Don't be Afraid to Share Your Knowledge and Expertise With Others
If you are or planning to be an athlete / musician / actor / artist / painter / dancer / designer / etc., try to connect with as many team members, coaches, staff, colleagues and competitors of your field as possible to share your knowledge and expertise and to learn from them.
I know that being in any of these professions can be a multi-million dollar business nowadays and therefore one might feel rather guarded about one's knowledge and skills.
The reason why it is still worth considering it? Because of the power of human connection. You will most likely benefit from it at least as much as the other person. Teaching and sharing with others will make you understand your own approach, thoughts and feelings more thoroughly and it will help others to understand you better. Listening to others and being confronted with their approaches and views will help you to grow, to improve and to develop. Both will result in positive change for yourself and anyone involved.
What it also does is motivate you to keep working hard because being in the presence of other greats will make you feel more connected to yourself, your discipline and its community. You do not need to hate or dislike your competitors to get the best out of yourself.
If you are or plan to be an athlete / musician / actor / artist / painter / dancer / designer / etc., why don’t you try reaching out to others so you can connect and share with them? Be open to different approaches and opinions and try to learn as much as you can so you can become your own best self. Who knows, maybe this experience will be more fulfilling, satisfying and meaningful than any gold medal, trophy, title or award you can win.
